Until the 30th June 2023, the Western Australia Department of Health are offering reimbursement for every non-National Immunisation Program (NIP) and WA state-funded eligible influenza vaccine doses administered in registered community pharmacies.


Available for all general patients from 5 years of age to 65 years of age who hold a valid Medicare card under the National Immunisation Program.

Free shingles vaccination under the National Immunisation Program (NIP) is available for eligible people most at risk of complications from shingles.


*A 2-dose course of Shingrix is available for FREE for:

  • ​people aged 65 years and over
  • First Nations people aged 50 years and over
  • immunocompromised people aged 18 years and over with the following medical conditions:
    • haematopoietic stem cell transplant
    • solid organ transplant
    • haematological malignancy
    • advanced or untreated HIV

Who should get vaccinated against Shingles?

Shingles (also called herpes zoster) is the disease caused when the chickenpox virus reactivates. Shingles can cause severe pain that can last for months.


Vaccination is a safe and effective way to protect yourself from serious disease caused by shingles.

The MedsCheck is an essential medicines review for all patients. Your pharmacist will meet with you to discuss your medicines and answer any questions you may have. Following your MedsCheck, you, our pharmacist and your doctor can develop the best medicine strategy to help you get the best result from your treatment.
